Twilight
Night comes gently, tucking tired earth
into soothing folds of darkness,
leaving quiet and solitude in place
of the bustle of day...
Settling back, softly playing music
for those awake, crickets and bullfrogs
join in pine-scented melody to serenade
night and earth...
A mellow lantern suspended in the sky
casting amber glow to reveal fawn and doe
gliding through the meadow...
A meteor shower sparkles down--
night has smiled,
all is well...
