Waiting for Us at the Rainbow Bridge...

Mou was adopted by Shulgi in September of 1981...

This picture was taken the week before Christmas of 1994... He'd never seen a Christmas Tree before...

He had run down the hallway into the living room, then skidded to a fur-raised stop when he saw the tree...

He walked up to it carefully, sniffed it, then backed up and sat down and looked over his shoulder as if to say "What is this thing doing in my living room?"

Shulgi died in my arms of old age on April 30th, 1999.

Misha

Mou got Misha the day before the 50th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge in May of 1987, and he was definitely Mou's cat - he never sat in anyone else's lap until after Mou died; nor did he ever stay in sight when a stranger was in the house.

Misha was a little over 20 years old when his kidneys failed him, leading to his death.

Shane rescued and named Boomer in 1979 when he was three years old, and she was six weeks old... They grew up together; she was always at his side, and his room and bed were hers as well...

Shane's predominate sleeping position is flat on his back; and Boomer's favorite sleeping spot was curled up on his chest...

Boomer lived a little over 17 years, and died a week before Christmas 1996.

Boomer was a definite cuddler; and when Shane wasn't home, a big time Lady's Cat...

I accidently woke Mou and Boomer up as I got the camera out to take a picture of the two of them sleeping...

This picture was taken in 1981; Boomer had once caught a sparrow - which pecked her hard enough to draw blood (thus getting away) - and Boomer never tried catching birds ever again...

So, when I put Sunny next to her on the couch, she watched him carefully - and backed up every time he came close to her.

Our next door neighbor was moving to Guam in 2001, and could not take Nougato with him, and we adopted Nougato - actually, were adopted by Nougato. He was 10 years old when he adopted us.

Nougato rapidly made himself at home, and had the loudest purr of all - when he purred, we could hear him no matter where he was in the house.

Nougato was with us for a little over three years when his diabetes overwhelmed him.
