October 2001 - Martha, Simba, and Shasta at Clear Lake. Our truck is set up with the sleeping pad and bags on top of a platform, and all of the camping gear beneath the platform. We could (and did) go camping simply by packing clothes for the trip and just going. This also proved useful for long trips when we didn't want to keep going and (hopefully) find a hotel. We'd pull into a rest stop and sleep in the back.
